Pig production

Polnovakia Agrar is one of the biggest pig producers in Slovakia. Production is in four locations. Mostly we produce according to the 2-site principal where sows are kept separated on one farm and the weaners/fatteners are on a second farm.

However we also have full line farms e.g. farrow to finish. The herd mainly has Danish origin to ensure quality meat and production efficiency.

Silárd

4 500 sows with production to 7 kg piglets

This farm was taken over by Polnovakia Agrar in August 2003. The production facilities has since undergone complete reconstruction.

It is one of the largest sow farms in Slovakia. Only the best young females are kept at the farm in order to secure high quality reproduction and breading. Each week the piglets from Silard are sent to our finisher farms directly from the farrowing stables.

Senica

100 000 finishers yearly

In Senica, we have the largest finisher farm within the Polnovakia Agrar group. It was taken over in May 2005 and has since been reconstructed completely. In total it has app. 40.000 m2 for animals. The piglets come from our farm in Silard and the two farms have a strong collaboration.

Rybany

800 sows full line

This farm was purchased by Polnovakia Agrar in 2007. At the end of 2008 everything was completely or partly reconstruted securing optimal production efficiency and animal welfare. In 2008 new young females from Denmark replaced the existing herd in order to ensure high meat quality and production efficiency.

Spišské vlachy

25 000 finishers yearly

The Spišské Vlachy farm was taken over by Polnovakia Agrar in 2007. Today we have a production of about 6.600 fatteners. However, we are currently working on a complete reconstruction of the entire farm including: buildings, stable equipment, silos, fodder systems, slurry systems, ventilation etc.
After reconstruction, it will be a modern farm focusing on animal welfare, production efficiency and the environment both external and internal.
